Hospital del Mar Bg. I Phase III

The new hospital building completes the west façade of the health macro-block of Hospital del Mar and opens towards the Barceloneta park. The first phase of the extension project for hospital services incorporates the criteria adopted since the renovation in 1992 and becomes the starting point in the transformation of the spaces for the future. In consequence, criteria of energy efficiency are adopted and infrastructures of the latest technology are used.
The topographical relation with the immediate surroundings of the block and with the external structures is fundamental. The materials of façade and internal finishes follow the line of the buildings of the block: exposed concrete, glass and wood, lacquered steel and die-cut aluminium sheet, coloured resin panels.
