For the project 'Herengracht' Powerhouse Company renovated a typical Dutch canal house situated in the centre of Amsterdam. By moving and replacing the original staircase and removing a part of the floor a view to the beautiful old windowframe was created. At the top floor the space was left open to create a spacial effect. A wooden interior element becomes a walkin closet inside the bedroom. The kitchen design emphasizes the great height of the kitchen space. By introducing a lazy staircase in the living room, the full height bookcase becomes part of this living area.
