Olot and Garrotxa Region Hospital

Olot, Espagne

The proposal is presented as an horizontal and staggered building, adapted to the existing topography and achieving that all levels are in contact with the ground. The building is arranged with longitudinal bars from east-west and "fingers" from north to south, creating big courtyards adapted to topography. This volumetric fragmentation takes advantage of the magnificent views as well as gives the building a human scale. The proposal promotes transparency and allows sunlight enter from courtyards and skylights in all rooms and hallways.
