Social housing Eeklo

The project is part of the social neighbourhood Boelare - Blommekens. The extension consists of a three storey building with multi-family apartments in front of twelve additional individual houses. These individual houses are secluded by a private garden wall that strengthens the urban character of the neighbourhood. The three storey building is situated at the street. An opening in the building forms the entrance to the back area. The transition from the street to the residential neighbourhood occurs gradually, thanks to the open façade, integrating the open gallery and centrally located external staircase. The façade both provides privacy for the residents and ensures the continuity of the surrounding street facades. The two-storey high façade connects with the scale of the streetscape in the Blommekens.
