Amagasaki Parking Area

This plan was chosen from a competition that was held for a highway rest stop area and restroom facility on the elevated section of the Hanshin Expressway No. 3 Kobe Line. Our proposal was for a park-like space full of greenery. The entire site was greened with green fences and covered with a long, narrow roof, 6m deep and 160m long. The eaves are bended to create a porch-like space, gently connecting the space from the bustling parking lot to the quiet park. I hope it will become a place comfortable enough for the users to take their minds off of expressways.
